Does anyone remember the Kisses Candy Cane disaster, I mean blossoms? Well, I finally got the recipe right. Ok fine, I didn't follow the recipe at all. I used the shortbread dough recipe instead. But take a look! They look (and taste) awesome!!
Cookies are a big thing around my house during Christmas time. I love baking them and having them around. So much so, I eat one or two before breakfast with my coffee. Hence the few pounds I gained which I am working on getting rid off for a week now.

I have to admit, I am so glad 2012 is over. It was a year filled with so many challenges for us that most times, I thought I would never see the end of it. But God was (and still is) faithful. We were blessed to endure hardship and still remained a strong family. Most importantly, I was able to start my blog, create a lot more recipes (some failed, some not), and joined the best bloggin' network there is out there. Many of you I have contacted directly and all of you responded with great help. I want to take this opportunity to say, "thank you and may 2013 be filled with blessings from above."

This time of year, I always go crazy with cookie baking. However, lately the cookies turn out to be a disaster. Being the determined person I am, I decided to give my recipes one last change before my motivation for baking went out the door.

Before I share this delicious recipe (and one of my favorites), I want to say that I miss blogging. Reason: issues with blogger (still) and now with my MacBook Pro. I started the process with WordPress and then my computer started running extremely slow. So, I decided to step away from it for awhile. Just this morning (after calling Apple twice), it started working faster while I edited my photos. But, it is back to running slow and freezing at every icon I click.
